  I just updated the blogroll changing it to display the last 15 updated blogs and imported the list of blogs on the old version of this site. My linking policy is pretty liberal as long as you think your blog is a good match to Neural Gourmet and you're willing to add Neural Gourmet to your own blogroll, although I naturally reserve the right to decline.
  

• Top 10 Blogging Tools
  

  Lifehacker has a roundup of the Top 10 Tools to Get Blogging Done. I already use a lot of these, although given my post count in recent months you might not know it. Still, things like Google Alerts (and Google Reader which wasn't mentioned) are indispensable. In place of using GMail to bookmark posts, I'd recommend del.icio.us and its' Firefox plugin. Also, Scribefire for Firefox is essential which allows you to post to your blog directly from Firefox.

• Old URLs now working correctly
  

  I thought I had the mod_rewrite rules correctly worked out before I relaunched the site but I didn't. Anyway, I made some minor adjustments and now the old date-based URLs work correctly. So if you request a Neural Gourmet post prior to May 2008 you should get redirected to the proper place in the archives. Maybe this will help out someone else, so here's the rules I used...

  RewriteRule 200([5-7])(.*)$ http://archives.neuralgourmet.com/200$1$2 [R=301,L]
  RewriteRule 2008/(0[1-4])(.*)$ http://archives.neuralgourmet.com/2008/$1$2 [R=301,L]

• What harm can come?
  

  One of the retorts skeptics often hear from those who believe in extraordinary things is, "What's the harm?" In other words, if someone believes that reptillian aliens secretly control our government, what possible harm can come from it? We mean skeptics should just shut up and leave people to their eccentric beliefs. Swallowing the Camel puts lie to this tired retort with The Hazards of Magical Thinking.
